Family Diving Adventure in the Kerama Islands – From Relaxed Reefs to Exciting Drift Diving
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful family from the United States for a full day of diving in the beautiful Kerama Islands National Park.
Although they told us they felt a little nervous because it had been a long time since their last dives, there was no need to worry. When guests are less experienced or returning after a long break, we choose calm dive sites where the boat can be safely moored. This creates a relaxed environment, making the experience comfortable for beginners and returning divers alike.
One of the family members was concerned about equalizing her ears. By using the descent line and taking plenty of time, she was able to descend comfortably and enjoy every dive.
Our first dives took us to beautiful sites around Zamami Island, where colorful anthias swam above vibrant soft corals. We also explored one of Okinawa's spectacular summer cave dive sites. During the day, we were lucky enough to encounter a sea turtle, making the experience even more memorable.
The highlight inside the cave was the incredible sunlight streaming through the entrance. During the calm summer season, the strong rays create a breathtaking "laser beam" effect that illuminates the crystal-clear water while bringing the surrounding coral reef to life with brilliant colors.

To finish the day, we headed to Kuroshima for an exciting drift dive. Huge schools of fusiliers filled the blue water, while dogtooth tuna and whitetip reef sharks cruised along the reef, providing an unforgettable finale to an amazing day.
