They told us they were surprised that the flight from Seoul to Okinawa took only about two hours, making it an incredibly convenient destination for a diving getaway.
If your flight arrives early enough (around 11:30 a.m. or earlier), it's often possible to join a boat trip to Kerama Islands National Park on the same day. If you arrive later, however, Itoman is an excellent alternative. The harbor is only about 30 minutes from Naha Airport, allowing you to enjoy two afternoon dives and make the most of your time in Okinawa.

During today's dives at Uenchi and Nashiro, we were greeted by dense schools of tropical fish and even encountered a sea turtle. Inside one of the caves, an incredible cloud of glassfish filled the entire space, creating a breathtaking scene. We also spotted an octopus hiding among the rocks, making for an exciting and memorable dive.
Although Itoman is still relatively unknown among international visitors, it offers visibility comparable to the Kerama Islands, abundant marine life, and an impressive variety of caves and underwater landscapes waiting to be explored.
Another great advantage of diving in Itoman is that the boat returns to the harbor after every dive. You don't have to spend the entire day on the boat, making it a fantastic choice for divers who are prone to seasickness. The harbor itself is quiet and relaxed, with far fewer divers than the more popular destinations, creating the perfect atmosphere to unwind between dives.
