May 09, 2026 | Open Water Diver Corse
Today, we continued the Open Water Diver (OWD) course with our guests from Germany. On the second day of the course, we head out by boat to the beautiful Kerama Islands.
At our shop, the boat diving fee is already included in the OWD course price, and after completing the course, divers can also add optional fun dives to enjoy even more time underwater.
After learning the fundamental skills in shallow water on the first day, today's training focuses on applying and refining those skills in deeper water. We practiced boat entry techniques, practical use of the BCD, and buoyancy control—some of the most important skills for safe and enjoyable diving.
Since OWD students share the boat with certified fun divers, they also get to experience what a typical day of diving is like, including the schedule, boat procedures, and time spent between dives. This helps prepare them for future diving adventures after certification.
The visibility around the Kerama Islands is often around 30 meters, so even during training dives, students can fully enjoy the incredible underwater scenery and marine life that make this area so famous.
