Mirror-Calm Seas & 40m Visibility: An Unforgettable Day Diving the Kerama Islands

Today, we welcomed a wonderful couple from Spain for a day of diving in the Kerama Islands.

There was almost no wind, and the ocean was as calm as a mirror. Visibility exceeded 40 meters, allowing us to clearly see exposed rocks through the glass-like surface—one of the best sea conditions we've had this season.

We enjoyed three dives at beautiful summer dive sites, surrounded by vibrant coral reefs, schools of Sea Goldies, butterflyfish, and damselfish. To make the day even more unforgettable, we were lucky enough to encounter a manta ray.

Interestingly, our guests hadn't originally planned to dive in Okinawa during their trip to Japan. However, after diving in the Maldives just recently, their dive guide told them, "If you're going to Japan, you have to dive in the Kerama Islands." That recommendation brought them here.

While encounters with large marine life are never guaranteed in Kerama, its world-famous visibility and breathtaking underwater scenery offer an experience unlike anywhere else. Today, the ocean treated us to both—crystal-clear water and an incredible manta encounter.

At TERIYAKI DIVERZ, we tailor every dive plan and dive site to each guest's experience level and preferences, so divers of all abilities can enjoy the best that Kerama has to offer safely and comfortably.

With English-speaking dive professionals always available, international visitors can join our tours with confidence. If you're planning to dive in Okinawa, we'd love to show you the unforgettable beauty of the Kerama Islands.
