May 02, 2026 | Open Water Diver Corse
Today we welcomed guests from Belgium and the United States for an Open Water Diver course. Since they live in Tokyo and Shanghai, Okinawa isn’t too far for them.
Although it was their first time meeting, they’re both nature lovers and truly wonderful people. They worked together as buddies and supported each other throughout the course.
They had studied the e-learning materials thoroughly, so everything—from using the gear to the in-water skills—went smoothly.
For beginners, maintaining balance underwater can be challenging, and they both struggled at first. However, by the end of the second dive, they looked much more comfortable and were able to maintain neutral buoyancy.
The first day of the OWD course is conducted at a shallow beach with a maximum depth of 5 meters. It’s a facility specifically designed for dive training, equipped not only with underwater slopes and buoys but also with comfortable amenities such as rest areas and showers.
At our shop, we tailor the training pace to each guest’s level, so even complete beginners can feel at ease. After mastering the basic skills in shallow water, tomorrow they will head to the Kerama Islands to practice more practical, real-world diving skills.
