April 28, 2026 | Open Water Diver Corse
It was a beautiful sunny day in Okinawa, with daytime temperatures reaching a warm 23°C. In Japan, we have a holiday period called Golden Week starting tomorrow, with eight consecutive days off—and for some people, it can be as long as 12 days. While this may seem like a short vacation to those overseas, it is considered one of the longer holiday periods in Japan.
Today, we welcomed a lovely couple from Hong Kong and started their Open Water Diver course. Thanks to their prior completion of the e-learning, they picked things up very quickly and were able to master everything from gear setup to usage in no time.
Underwater, we were able to spot baby squid and a school of needlefish.
Tomorrow, we will continue the course with a boat trip to the Kerama Islands. Not only will they learn more practical diving skills, but they will also get to enjoy the world-famous “Kerama Blue,” with visibility exceeding 30 meters.
Our OWD course is designed to give student divers plenty of time to learn at their own pace until they feel fully comfortable with the required skills. We also offer English support, so international guests are more than welcome to join us with confidence.
